What the site is
The site offers free calculators and articles that estimate quantities of building and landscaping materials from measurements you enter. The results are estimates for planning a purchase. They are not quotes, not engineering, and not a substitute for your supplier's figures, the product maker's instructions, your local building code, or the judgment of a licensed professional.
No warranty on results
The calculators and pages are provided as they are. The team checks the formulas with automated tests and takes figures from the sources listed on each page. Materials differ by producer, by region and by moisture, sites differ in ways a calculator cannot see, and mistakes are possible. How Many Bags makes no promise that a result will match what your job actually needs. It is not responsible for material bought short or in excess, for delivery charges, or for any loss that follows from relying on a result. Confirm quantities with your supplier before a large order and allow for waste.
No structural or professional advice
Nothing on the site tells you whether a slab, footing, wall, deck, driveway or any other structure is adequate, safe or compliant with a code. Thickness and depth figures on the pages are common starting points taken from published guidance. Your local code, the product maker and the conditions on your site take precedence over all of them. Work that needs a permit, an inspection or an engineer's design needs them regardless of anything calculated here.
Using the site
You may use the calculators for personal and commercial estimating. You may link to any page. You may not copy the pages, the calculators or their code to another site or present them as your own. You may not scrape the site or use it in a way that interferes with its operation. The names How Many Bags and howmanybags.net, the page text, the tables and the calculators are the property of the site's operator. The formulas themselves are ordinary arithmetic and belong to no one.
Links to other sites
Pages link to other sites, mainly the source documents listed at the end of each page. How Many Bags does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content or their handling of your data. The site carries no advertising today. If Google ads are added later, the advertisers and Google are separate businesses. An ad is not a recommendation by How Many Bags, and the site does not control what an advertiser offers. The privacy policy's advertising section will describe the cookies and identifiers involved before the first ad shows.
